Prom: Dress, tan etc?

My prom is in 6 months. It may seem early to be looking for a dress, but all the girls have started looking, and as im on prom comittee its kinda on my mind alot.

Our proms arent themed (english prom)

I am 5 foot 5 with blue/green eyes, chocolate brown hair, im quite pale, and i have a spring complection.

I am going to get a tan for the prom, so I wont be so pale.

I am having an "up-do" with my hair (already booked he he)

I want a full length satiney dress.

What colour prom dress should I get. Any links you could send me?

Talk about costs too.

With your skintone and haircolor, try a color like teal, green or coral, something warm that will really look great against your dark hair and your (soon to be) tanned skin. You can also try Mystic tan spray-on tanning... I'm very fair and use that right before big events because it takes FOREVER for me to get a good tan.... You can actually do the Mystic more than once to get darker. You could try it now and see what you think, that way if you don't like it, then you won't be trying it right before prom.

As for websites, try depshops.com... Their dresses are usually under or around $100. Other great dress sites would be jcpenney (for cheaper dresses) or Nordstrom.com and Macy's.com (for more expensive dresses, around $200-300) I love Nordstrom.... I usually get a dress there, either regular price or on clearance for all of the weddings I have that year.

Also, depending on where you live, check to see if there is a bridal or special occasion dress shop that will rent dresses. I was involved in a pageant a few years ago, and found a place to rent formals for between $70-100... that way I didn't end up with a dress at the back of my closet for the next ten years.... im having my prom too in 6 months. im going with a shorter dress because i dont want to look too much like a bride. them big huge dresses just make people look like they are getting married and is a bit much.

i think a sparkly blue dress would look nice, or a red one. Red goes really well with dark hair! x

a black dress with silver hems would look pretty and slimming. wear a blue pendant necklace with that and you'll be amazing.
