Does anyone know how to make kinky hair grow faster? (like hair that is tight curls)?
Hi. There are some websites that your friend can look at that will show her how to take care of her hair. First off, tell your friend to not press her hair anymore. Constant heat will thin her hair out and damage it to the point that she will have to cut it off. Secondly, I will be honest with your friend. There is no quick fix for her to grow her hair long in a short amount of time. Some hair grows slower than others. But what I can give her is advice on how to take care of her hair and start her on a journey to having long healthy hair.
Here are some good websites on natural hair care:
www.motowngirl.com - all abouut natural hair
www.nappturality.com - support group and info for naturals
www.growafrohairlong.com - info on natural, relaxed hair and braid care
Also she should take multivitamins and a hair vitamin like biotin or GNC healthy hair, skin and nails vitamin so that the new growing hair can be strong and healthy. Dont get hair vitamins with large doses though. The human body could only take so much and will flush the rest right out, which is a waste considering the large dose hair vitamin costs like $30. There are a ton of websites that I go on for natural hair. I have been natural for 6 years, but only found this information last year.
The products that are sold in stores for natural hair have lots of chemicals that will do more harm to your hair than good. My rule is that if you cant read half or most of the ingredients, then its not good for you. Stick with natural based products and stay away from mineral oil and petroleum (it will only clog your pores and retard your hair growth).
Here are some websites that have good products for natural hair:
www.curls.biz
www.sistasplace.com
www.sizta2sizta.com
www.qhemetbiologics.com
www. curlicious.com
www.nasabb.com - I buy black soap from this website for my hair and 100% unrefined shea butter to moisturize my hair. They have a free sample pack but you only pay $4.00 for shipping. It should be small.
When looking at these websites, do your research. Try things out. Its all trial and error. If you find a product that works for your hair, stick with it. Dont become a product junkie and have 5 moisturizers to moisturize your hair. Thats overkill.
www.motowngirl.com also has links to other websites too. Check it out. Since you are going to your prom, there are tons of hairstyles you can choose for your natural hair, like twists, twist extensions, twistouts, braids and braid extensions, flat twists, afro puffs, afros and more. There are so many options for you to choose from. You can also spice up your hair with headbands, fancy clips, flowers.
I hope this helps you. Lastly, dont compare your hair to other peoples hair. Your hair is unique and different people have different routines. I am mixed with 3b, 3c and 4a hair all in one (curly, coily, and kinky). But I have done my info and have found a routine that works for me. Treat your hair like gold and love it, and it will show you the love back. God bless.

Tell her to get her hair braided in cornrows. She can use braid extensions if she wants to. She should use a product called DooGro hair vitalizer or Dr.Miracles in her hair.they can be found at Walgreen's. They both make your hair grow, but they work best when the hair is in braids. Also, tell her to eat foods rich in vitamin E, such as dry roasted almonds, raw sunflower seeds, and boiled spinach.
