I have very thick, wavy hair just below the shoulders, what style of updo should I go with?

My hair is about 6in. below my shoulders, but it is very thick. Most of the updos for prom this year would look bad with my hair, as they are for those with thin, or medium-thick hair. What kind of updo should I go with?

I had your same issue when I went to my prom. I scheduled an appointment with my hair stylist beforehand so we could figure if my vision was actually doable. My vision was a french twist, and it was a nightmare. We ended up just piling it on top of my head and it took me about 2 hours to get the pins out afterward but it looked much better when she used her experience to do what was best for MY head. u can always use a blow drier and make it strait then u can use a curling iron and flip the ends up and it looks so cute.

um...next time you go to the salon, ask your stylist to thin it out... she will know what your talking bout! curl it, then put it in a bun. it will look super chic yet still dressy enough!or leave it down and be PROUD of your thick hair!

I have very thick hair that's wavy also. You could buy a straightner. If you do I'd reccomend the Remington T-Styler (around 40.00). It really helps get rid of waves in hair. If you don't want to buy a straightner you can put your hair in a bun or ponytail. Or if you decide to get a straightner you could straighten it and then put it up which might make it easier to put in a bun or something.

scrunch it up and let some flow natural just experiment till you see what looks best.use bobby pins,clipps etc try them out and see what looks best on you.:)
