My hair won't get straight.. What should i do??

So I'm Dominican, African american, and Indian and my hair is naturally curly, but i always wear it straight. But over the last couple of weeks.. the weather here has really done damage to my hair (it's been very humid, hot and rainy!). My hair is fine while i'm in the house, but as soon as i step outside it gets curly again.. I've tried a couple of products like "Mega hertz", by Soft Sheen.. it's supposed to help, but it failed horribly and prom's coming up this weekend and i refuse to wear my hair curly at prom.. So what should i do?? Do you know any good hair products that i should try?

I acutally work at a hair salon- Here to tell you couple of ways to keep your hair nice ( its part of job- truly). Chi is a nice Iron but the reason is becasue its a FULL ceramic iron (not coated) and they actually straighten alot better and quicker- so any full ceramic iron is good it does less damage. There are other ones out there too. But they also fight humity as well- which is really great about these Irons.

Note: There are styling products out there- that have humity resentice ingredents in to help with that.

This includes Hair sprays (Sebestain, Redkin's Forseful , creams (Sleek Look from Matrix) serums ( Kenras Straighting Serms ) those are your best defense becsaue they are meant to work against the humidy.

Also if your worried about damage it always good to use a heat protectant before you straighten even before blow drying. Also try some fortaying shampoo or repartaive if you have been using heat tools. ( Not for to long- but long enough to get your hair healthy) If you use to much protein for too long - that can make you hair brittle. Hope that helps..

okay, use any craem that is meant for using with a flat iron.

use a ceramic iron and put it on high.

it wont burn ur hair, unless u use it all the time

ok, condition and let it air dry to where it is straight, then use some Chi Flat Iron cream and straighten it, this use some Chi hold spray and that should give it a straight and sexy look and feel.

Your best chance of getting sleek hair is to invest in a great straightener like Chi or Sedu. But if you don't have the cash try rinsing your hair is super cold water to close the cuticle. Then apply a frizz serum like John Freida's. Then use a sleek in straight product from the pantene line...then straighten with an straightening iron. Good luck.

I have the same problem with my hair only I got a perm and I've had it for almost a year now but when I want it straight, I get out my straightener. I put a LOT of hairspray in then straighten it. Be sure not to comb through it very much or the hair spray will come out. Your straightener may get a little sticky so wipe it off after your done. THIS WORKS! Get a strong-hold hair spray so that it won't come out very easy. Hope this helps!
